***I am good at tidying-up….***
Mason, Casper and Alivia - You have been brilliant at tidying-up this week. Starting to tidy as soon as a grown-up says 'tidy-up time' or when you hear the tidy-up song. Thank you so much, the grown-ups real appreciate it and are very proud of you all.
Dear Parents,
We have had another lovely Autumn week. The children have been making some very prickling but cute hedgehogs from conker shells hiding in their homes ready for Winter. We have started preparing coconut shells for bird feeders so that they don't get hungry in the Winter.
We have continued to learn our 'Bonkers about Conkers' song and added actions that the children have learnt really well. The children also created very nice musical compositions on Tuesday and Thursday, choosing different instruments to represent the different elements of Autumn - falling leaves, the wind blowing, hedgehogs snuffling, ect. We had a little dance in P.E. to some Autumn related songs that ended in a Conker Conga.
On Wednesday we had a lovely walk where we saw a muntjac (just), horses and a digger. On Thursday we had lots of fun at Forest School with the magnifying glasses, making music on the pots and pans and swinging from the rings and the branch swing to help develop the children's upper body strength. We read the poster about the red Kite which inspired us for next week's focus.
Next week our focus will be birds learning about different types of birds: identifying some big and little birds; finding out that some stay in Britain (finishing our bird feeder to help to look after them in the colder months) as well as looking at migration. For craft we will be making our own birds and learning 'Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree'.
For 'Star of the Week' we will be choosing children who can make links (a characterist of effective learning).
We hope you have a weekend,
The Pebbles team.
