*STARS OF THE WEEK*

***I am great at looking after Pebbles things and tidying up….***

Clover - You were the only one that went to help Stevie tidy up the puzzles even though you didn't leave them out and then you did brilliant tidying of all the little bits from the baskets.

Fergus - The teachers are so pleased with you for picking up the books the other children leave on the floor and being brilliant at tidying everyday.

Finley - Rebecca loved that you looked at all the photos on the front of the baskets to make sure you were putting everything back in the right places!

Dear Parents,

We have had a fantastic week learning about space.  We watch the first moon landing on the tablet as well as shooting stars/comets.  We found lots of songs about the planets that helped us start to learn the different names and what is special about them.  We learnt about statilites and that they send information to earth; that astronauts walk funny on the moon and have weights in their boots and that a rocket is powered by fire.  The child loved making their own rockets or moon buggies out of junk modelling.  They were very impressive with fire, windows and buttons added.

On Wednesday it was Chinese New Year so we turn our attention to making dragon masks, wathcing dragon dancing and eating noodles and prawn crackers for snack.

The children voted on what they want to do next week.  They were given the choice of planets or dinosaurs (as we learnt how meteorites wiped them out).  The majority of the children voted for dinosaurs.  Therefore, we will be making a dinosaur swap; excavating dinosaur skulls out of the sand; cooking dinosaur biscuits; playing with the dinosuars and sorting them into different categories.  The older children will do this by what they ate and the younger children will do it by size and what they look like. We will listen to lots of dinosaur stories and learn the dinosaur stomp.
